Roughly following the street lines that have already been laid out, give the streets width and shape. This will impact on house lots and you will later modify the frontage line of each house lot to conform. b. Streets other than the main chowk should have an average width of no more than 10 to 15 feet. Dead-end lanes that come off the streets to serve one or two houses may be quite narrow. c.The width of streets should be allowed to vary. They should be wider in places of increased activity, up to 25 feet, and narrower in places of less activity, down to 6 feet. 10. REFINE ALL HOUSE LOTS, AND GIVE THEM EXACT SHAPE as needed to form the street you have laid out. Give all house lots their exact shape and size through a final adjustment. This adjustment must preserve the decisions about the shape of streets made in the previous step.
