HOUSE PLINTH       STEP 3:    THE OTTLA

The plinth has an open ottla in front of the house, forming the edge of the street.

This is a portion of the plinth at the front of the house, outside the front door, that is not built on, and acts as a terrace overlooking the street. Define the depth of the otta to be at least 5 feet, and mark the line of the rear of the otta onto the plinth.

The ottla runs the full width of the house lot, is at least 5 feet deep, and contains the steps from street to front door. Height of the ottla may vary slightly from house to house. Once the position of the otta has been determined, no enclosed part of the house may project into it.
