COMMUNITY       STEP 7: SHOW ROUGH LINES OF HOW OTHER STREETS WILL FEED INTO THE PRINCIPAL STREET/ CHOWK TO MAKE A POSSIBLE, ROUGH WHOLE

Identify major areas of the new community, away from the main street (chowk) that will need secondary streets that lead to the main street (chowk). Lay out these streets on the ground. For now, they should be defined as lines, without width or area. at principal centers, at least, and may also be located at points in between these principal centers. They may be located at places where public buildings will be built.

Extend these lines toward the boundary of the community. At least some of these streets should end at points on the boundary that have been identified as entrances, because there are important places just outside the boundary. These streets should incorporate any nice places on the site that are not part of the main street (chowk).

c. These secondary streets should be laid out as sections, each section no longer than __________meters. The jogs where the streets shift will be opportunities for small public places, small squares, and trees.
